Going to India, for some, feels like quite a decision. Some hate it, some love it, but nearly everyone feels touched, affected, or changed by the mysteries of this country. It leaves a mark in you, it scraches below your surface and the beauty of it goes beyond the scenery. Sometimes that mark is painful, even scarring, but it’s crucial for your life story.
Remember—everything has a price, and sometimes the cheapest countries can cost you the most. India has a way of unraveling something deep within you, revealing hidden truths, secrets, and lies. It tests what is weak, forcing you to metamorphose—either into a butterfly or a dung beetle.
Does that sound too scary? Too good to be true? Honestly, I didn’t expect much from my trip, but it changed my life. I still believe there’s something profound beneath the earth of India and Nepal. It might sound like a mystical explanation, but most people go there hoping to transform their lives and perspectives, and their wish comes true. People change there and come back renewed. That’s often the case for those of us from the West.
I’m from Lithuania, and every time I go to Asia, I seem to find a piece of myself—a small, hidden gem waiting to emerge. Sadly, sometimes that gem is buried under none other than your own shit.
